The smartphone provides free 4G Internet access and details of facilities within the suites, and is pre-loaded with common browsers and social media apps. It includes a city map, details of local events, and allows guests to book tickets for restaurants, shows and tourist attractions, providing an 'on the move' concierge service.
The device can be taken out of the apartment with all data erased two hours after check-out. There is no need for the guest to use any other phone during their stay. Countries which can be called free vary with the property and guests' nationalities but usually include Europe, North America, Australia and China.
